How have I never heard of this place? On the list for next time. And as a total aside I live near the Happy Pear production facility and they have a sign outside that says Pearville and it gives me unmerciful ick.
I think you know that Jody and I eat only kosher meat, but a couple of years ago, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law were in from STL and they wanted to go to Peter Luger's. I told Jody I was going to make an exception and have steak. She said, "Well, you don't go to Peter Luger's for fish" and went along with me.
So, we had their steak for 4, but asked that they not cook it in butter. That was going a bit too far. Honestly, it was good, but not the best steak I've ever had; those better steaks were served in various kosher steakhouses in NYC.
Peter Luger is someplace everyone should go to once in their lives. The experience is different than it was 20 years ago. Back then, the restaurant was relatively dark and, as I remember it from our visit a couple of years ago, it was pretty bright.

Lol!!
You’ve sold it, adding this to the list for my upcoming New York trip! 😂
Do it! Though definitely try to book it in advance
I think I’d be diagnosed as being in a coma, standing next to the Happy Pear twins 😂
