Laughed so hard reading this I almost woke up my own child that I’m rocking back to sleep at 1am…can’t wait to show this to my husband in the morning 😂 thanks for the read and I’m glad your evenings have returned!
Enjoy reading your Notes from New York! Fair play to you for publishing them! Glad you got your evenings back… have been lying on the bedroom floor for the last 7 years here!! 🙈🙈
I actually laughed out loud reading this! I hate to admit but I do have a good sleeper (she’s 15 months old) and now I’m scared of how that’s going to change when she turns 2 😂 I’ll definitely try this tactic though!
We are going on one year of my husband and I sleeping in separate beds, one of us with the toddler, one of us in the guest room. It often takes her hours to fall asleep, and we show her calming YouTube episodes on our phones to keep her in bed. Can I try sleepy sleepy time?? I think we have the worst arrangement of anyone I know 🤣 she is totally in charge and knows it
It worked so well for us though I have tp say, I wrote this a year ago and right now...all 4 of us are squashed into our bed at 11pm after refusals to go tp sleep..putting it down to day before back to school nerves 🙏🙏
Cosleeping gave me plenty of sleep. I got more sleep with little kids than I do all these years later with an elderly dog who has to be taken out a couple times during the night.
Lord, my own mother would have had a padlock on the outside of that bedroom door. But you can get arrested for that these days! Very well done both of you your marriage survived AND you can still see the fun side.

David's mother told me she had the twins waking every night for 6 years then their sister joined for a further 8
I am cackling silently while watching gilded age at 6 am on mute so my own sleepers don’t suspect fun is being had

I have raised four kids - youngest is 5 and seen all the horrors of sleep. I was laughing out loud.
thank you for not blocking out the memories!
