Watched the Bluey episode. I loved the fact the music is from Gustav Holst’s “The Planets,” one of my favorite pieces.
Youngest son used to sneak into our bed. He figured out that if he crawled in by our feet and laid across the bed, we wouldn’t notice. I could usually feel his shoulder against my toes. A very fond memory!
We played Holst in our marching band show when I was a junior in high school and then in district orchestra when I was a senior. I recognized it the moment I heard it on Bluey 15 years later. It’s my favorite episode. My kids dont come in during the night but both 5 and 8 yo come lay down with us nearly every morning.
That’s fantastic - I think there should be more of them too! I realised a month or so ago that, no matter what I achieve in a day, and - like you - it’s usually a lot, I crawl into bed thinking only of the things I didn’t get to. Which means that regardless of how many dragons and to-do lists I absolutely slay, I feel like a failure. I’m working to change this, and sometimes I’m astounded by how many little things I get done. I’m gonna do this! (She says, excitedly adding it to her already unachievable list 😂)
Truly deeply feel that if you have created even just one child, as a woman, you can stop ever questioning again if you have “done enough” or generally “do enough” in a day… You have done and continue to do beyond the beyond everyday.
I would read more of these just so you know 🙃

Wot, no Kimberley Mikado and Coconut Creams, are they even Irish parents
The funniest he’s ever taught! I would never stop talking about this.
I immortalized it in a Substack post 😂
